About Me

Hi! Thanks for stopping by.

I’m Jess, a certified personal trainer and yoga teacher in Charlottesville, VA. I graduated with a degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from James Madison University and, soon after, dove head-first into the world of health and fitness.

Over the years, my idea of what it means to live a healthy life has evolved. It used to involve casting a negative light on foods we classify as “unhealthy”, and the notion that “healthy eating” is time-consuming and involves putting pre-made meals into 15 containers each week.

There’s nothing wrong with the above type of meal prep, but I’ve learned that healthy living is SO much more than that. This blog allows me to continue sharing my experiences with finding a balance between living and being healthy.

My passion is to highlight ways in which you can make time for health, whether it’s by cooking easy recipes or doing the most effective exercises for your strength. We’re busy people, and making the best use of our time is crucial!

Let’s begin to change the way we look at fitness and wellness. Join me throughout the week as I share exercise ideas and recipes. You might even see bits of my personal life sprinkled throughout!

Hey there! I’m Meghan also from VA. I just came across your blog… I love the idea of a “balanced” lifestyle. That is something I agree on, but is also a weakness of mine.

Hi, Meghan! Thanks so much for stopping by. Yes, being “balanced” is a challenge for me, too haha. I think it’ll work much better in the long run, though!

Hi Jess! I came across your blog a few weeks ago through the Sweat Pink Ambassadorship and wanted to leave you a comment here. I love your approach to healthy living – whole, unprocessed foods, and just eating what makes your body feel good. I’m of the same mind (as I think a lot of fitness professionals are). I love that you specifically said you won’t see any juice cleanses on your blog, too! How awesome! 🙂 I don’t believe in them either, so I’m glad to see another fit pro and blogger out there who does. Awesome stuff here! Can’t wait to peruse a bit more.
